Join the fun at Day Camp!

Day Camp participants, ages 6-11, will experience a range of activities from arts & crafts, sports, contests, walking trips, field trips, themed activities, and more! Day Camp is divided into two smaller camps, which is determined by age.



Junior Day Camp:

Ages 6-9

Pleasant Lane School; 401 N. Main Street, Lombard on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Lombard Community Building: 433 E St. Charles Road, Lombard on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.


Senior Day Camp:

Ages 10-11

Lombard Community Building; 433 E. St. Charles Road, Lombard.



Day Camp Schedules

A schedule of themes and field trips are available online or at Sunset Knoll prior to the start of camp. Additional information regarding schedules will be provided when needed.


Day Camp Options

Day Camp offers the option of 3-day, 5-day, 10-day, or full summer sessions. All Day Camp sessions include the field trip on Fridays. If the 3-day option is chosen, the days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday only.


Field Trips

Junior and Senior Camp have scheduled field trips every Wednesday and all campers attending camp on a Wednesday, must go on the field trip. Field trip permission slips will be given at the time of registration with the Parent Manual and must be filled out prior to the first day of camp. Campers must wear their provided camp t-shirt on field trip days.


Pool Days

Junior Day Camp will visit Paradise Bay Water Park every Monday and Friday during the summer. Additional pool days may be offered during some sessions. If weather is inclement on a pool day, camp will be held at the Lombard Community Building. If your camper has swimming limitations, staff strongly encourages swim lessons, which are offered for campers only, every Wednesday morning. Senior Campers will visit Paradise Bay Waterpark every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.


Swim Lessons

Swim lessons are available for day camp or teen camp participants for $4 per lesson or eight lessons for $20. Swim lessons will be held on Wednesdays from 8:30-9:10 AM at Paradise Bay Water Park. Once campers are done with swim lessons, counselors will pick them up from inside the water park and bring them to their group.



Registration is located at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center. Registration will not be taken at Pleasant Lane School or Lombard Community Building. Campers must be registered at least three (3) business days prior to their start of camp.


Extended Care

The Park District’s extended service is available for children enrolled in Day Camp. Campers can be registered for two week sessions or daily at $9 per time attended.
Camp participants can choose to enroll in Sunrise Camp and/or Sunset Camp.


Sunrise Camp: 7:00 am-9:00 am
Sunset Camp: 3:30 pm-6:00 pm


Fees must be paid prior to attending Sunrise or Sunset Camp.
Please provide additional snacks for your child. Inform your child of transportation arrangements. We will only release your child to those noted on the information sheet for both Day Camp and Sunrise/Sunset Camp. Please be sure information is accurate throughout the summer.
