Lombard Thunder Travel Softball
Lombard Thunder Travel Softball
(Ages 10U-17U)
Lombard Thunder Travel Softball is offered for girls, part-time and full-time ages 10U-17U. This program allows girls to participate in softball beyond the Lombard Park District in-house program. Thunder Softball includes indoor practices starting in January and outdoor practices starting in April. The Thunder program includes advanced training opportunities and participation in travel-level games and tournaments. Full-time teams may choose to start team activities in the fall prior to winter indoor training, including fall outdoor practices and some games. Indoor training that starts in January for both levels is typically held at the Madison Meadow Athletic Center. Outdoor practices and home games are played at various locations, including Madison Meadow and Lombard Common.

Full-Time vs. Part-Time Travel Softball Comparison
Both full-time and part-time teams hold indoor winter practices to assist with skill development and team building. Once the program transitions outdoors in the spring, the full-time program begins travel games and tournaments. The part-time program is designed to allow participants to play in the Lombard Park District in-house program that is available in the spring (required) and fall (encouraged). Part-time travel teams typically schedule their tournaments in the summer to avoid conflicting with in-house schedules. Part-time travel team activities are in addition to and separate from the in-house program. The fees listed for part-time travel do not include in-house league fees.
