Youth T-Ball

(Ages 4-6)
Youth t-ball introduces basic baseball rules and sportsmanship along with teaching the necessary baseball fundamentals of base running, hitting and fielding to your little athlete. The program begins with three weeks of instruction in a practice setting followed by three weeks of games. Games are 50 minutes and may be played at 5:30 or 6:30 pm regardless of which time slot participants have registered for. The program is taught by Park District staff, but parents are encouraged to help with instruction. Proper sanitation and social distancing guidelines will be practiced throughout the season.

Fall Girls Softball

(Grades 3-8)
Lombard Park District offers an extensive girls youth softball program including instruction for all ages and skill levels. The primary goal is to create an opportunity for fundamental skills development in a positive, supportive, friendly, safe and fun environment. Coaches will determine all practice times. New this year, the park district has joined the 5 Star Softball League. The park district reserves the right to combine age levels if necessary.

Girls Travel Softball

(Grades 3-8)
Lombard Thunder Travel Softball program offers girls an opportunity to compete at a higher level while also participating in the in-house softball program. Our program includes indoor practices starting in January, outdoor practices starting in April, six clinics with a professional softball coach, one round robin and four local tournaments. We offer this program part-time for 10U, 12U and 14U and full-time for 10U. Interested in joining? Tryouts take place the end of August, stay tuned!

Fall Youth Soccer

(Ages 4-Grade 9)
Give your child the opportunity to experience the world’s most popular sport! Participants will learn and improve their soccer skills and share in the fun and camaraderie at the heart of youth sports in this program. Teams practice once per week weather-permitting. Coaches will determine all practice times. Teams will hold at least one practice before their first game of the season. Games are approximately one hour on Saturdays. If rainouts occur, games will be rescheduled for an additional Saturday at the end of the season or on weekday evenings. Lombard Park District staff will select teams and coaches using the Team Formation Guidelines. For more information, please see the Parent Manual available below.

Winter Youth Basketball

(Grades K-8)
Participants will learn basic skills and enjoy friendly competition of weekly games. Games will be approximately one hour. Grades K-2 will have both practices and games on Saturdays. Grades 3 and up will play a 9-game season on weekends and will typically have 1-hour practices once a week at local school gyms.

Instructional Programs

Lombard Park District offers a variety of athletics for youth ages 2-15 years. These instructional programs are great for beginners and kids looking to advance their understanding of the fundamentals of sports. These classes are taught by park district staff or contractual groups such as 3Point Athletics, P2 Soccer with Firebirds, Chicago Fire, Challenger International, EVP Volleyball Academy and many more. Athletics include baseball, t-ball, lacrosse, basketball, volleyball, football, hockey, golf, soccer, tennis, ice skating and martial arts.

Youth Athletic Leagues

Lombard Park District offers youth athletic leagues for multiple sports throughout the year. Youth athletic leagues are for all ages and skill levels, and especially for kids looking to advance understanding of the fundamentals of sport. Our youth athletic leagues will provide a fun and safe environment for children to learn sportsmanship, hand-eye coordination, skill development, teamwork and so much more.

Healthy Snacks

Through the years, it has become common for parents to provide postgame snacks for the youth athletic teams. To keep with promoting healthy lifestyles and fitness, we ask that parents choose healthy items when possible and be aware of any food allergies.

Registration Deadlines

Players registered after the deadline will be placed on a waiting list. There is no guarantee players will be accepted off of the waiting list. If players are not placed on a team from the waiting list, refunds will be granted minus a $10 processing fee.

Coach of the Year

Did your young athlete have a wonderful experience this season thanks to the coach? Nominate them for our Coach of the Year Award! We are looking for coaches who embrace the ideals of leadership, fun, fair play, sportsmanship and skill improvement. Rams Athletic Camps

In conjunction with Glenbard East High School, Rams Camps offers a variety of instructional athletic summer camps for kids heading into grades 3-12. Camps include baseball, basketball, gymnastics, cross county, bowling, tennis, volleyball, football and many more. Please note: Ram Athletic Camps have been postponed this season. Check back in Late June for more information.
