Volunteer Opportunities

Lombard Park District relies on volunteers like you to ensure our programs run successfully. Getting involved with the District offers numerous benefits. You will venture outdoors more, be more active, meet new people, inspire all different ages groups through exciting activities, programs and events, and ultimately enjoy life! Look no further to serve your community – consider volunteering through the Lombard Park District! Interested volunteers can call 630.620.7322 or contact us by clicking below.

Please note: volunteers under the age of 14 should volunteer with parent/guardian supervision.

The horticulturist, Jane Burke, will provide you with plant material, prepare the bed, and water the flower bed. 1. All flower beds are assigned to volunteers by the horticulturist, Jane Burke, on a first-come, first-served basis.
  2. Volunteering is open to all individuals, businesses, corporations, schools, neighborhood associations, and youth organizations.
  3. Each individual or group participant must sign the waiver form before starting work. An adult must supervise anyone under the age of 18.
  4. Work must be completed during park hours only, 6:00 am – 10:00 pm.
  5. If a volunteer has collected a large amount of plant material, please contact jburke@lombardparks.com for the disposal of materials.

Interested in community beautification, acquiring some volunteer hours or just want to get your hands dirty? Get a group together this season and Adopt-a-Park from the Lombard Park District! Families, community groups, and local businesses are encouraged to take part in this program. Commitment will require visiting the adopted park from April to November to help clean up residual trash and debris from the park. Groups also ensure safety for community members, making note of repairs, and gardening needs that District park staff can attend to. T-shirts, cleaning supplies, and signage placed in front of the park recognizing your group will be provided. For more information, please contact Katie Manheim at kmanheim@lombardparks.com.
