Automated External Defibrillator
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are life-saving devices that check a person’s heart rhythm and deliver a shock if needed during a cardiac emergency. As part of Lombard Park District’s commitment to safety, AED units are installed and available at multiple parks and facilities throughout the District.
AED units are available outdoors at Four Seasons, Lombard Common, Madison Meadow, Southland, and Sunset Knoll. Each unit is stored in a heated, weatherproof cabinet. When an AED is needed, dial 911, and dispatch will provide you with a code to access the AED cabinet.
Outdoor AED Locations:
- Four Seasons– Bathroom Shelters
- Lombard Common– Bathroom Shelters
- Madison Meadow– Softball Fields 14/15/20 and Football Field
- Sunset Knoll– Baseball Concession Building
- Southland– Shade Structure
Any individual may use AEDs in response to a cardiac emergency. The units are simple to use, prompting the user with step-by-step verbal instructions and delivering a shock only if needed. All units are equipped for use on both adults and children.
