Board of Park Commissioners
Lombard Park District has seven Board of Park Commissioners, elected by residents for 6-year terms. Board of Park Commissioner meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm at Sunset Knoll Recreation Center, located at 820 S. Finley Road. All are invited to attend. Additional committee meetings are held at 6:00 pm as well. Greg Ludwig

Greg Ludwig was first elected to a four-year term in 2011 and currently is serving his second six-year term on the Lombard Park District Board. Greg and his wife, Dr. Georgie Ludwig, have two children and reside in the Southland area of the Park District. Greg is a lifelong, fourth generation Lombardian. Greg and Georgie are owners of their family business, the Lombard Veterinarian Hospital on St. Charles Road in Lombard, which is currently celebrating 60 years in business. Greg holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Management from National Lewis University. Greg is a member of Lombard Rotary and currently serves as a Director for the Lombard Chamber of Commerce. “I always wanted to get involved and give back to the community, running for the Park District Board was a great way to do that.”

Steve Zook

Steve Zook was elected on the Board of Park Commissioners in 2023 for a six-year term. Steve and his wife, Rose, have resided in Lombard for over 49 years. He has three children Laura, Chris, and Stef. Steve enjoys playing golf, and loves watching and attending Chicago sports games. As one that is an active user of Park District programs and facilities, Steve wants to ensure these excellent community resources continue to grow and improve for years to come.

Alex Ferguson

Alex Ferguson serves on the Lombard Park Board of Commissioners and lives with his wife, Anna DeLuna Ferguson, and their two daughters, Esther and Nyla, who attend Hammerschmidt Elementary, just north of Stewart and Maple Avenue, near Paradise Bay. As a family, they frequently walk to Lilacia Park and Lombard Common and enjoy visiting Old Grove Park during the non-pool season. His love for parks and recreation drives his work on the board, bringing personal experience and community focus to every decision.

Margie Fugiel

Margie Fugiel, after being appointed to the Board of Commissioners in 2020, Margie was elected to her first four-year term in April 2021. She developed a passion for recreation as a teenager while working a variety of park district jobs, later leading her to an education in Recreation and Park Administration. Being a resident of Lombard for over 50 years and raising her family in the park district realm, her kids attended programs and special events, too many to mention. Margie enjoys golfing at Lombard Golf Course, outdoor activities, and going to Cubs games.

Mike Kuderna

Mike Kuderna has lived in Lombard for 35 years and resides in South Lombard near Madison Meadow with his wife, Emily, a Lombard native. They have three young children: Michael, Jonathan, and Roseanne. In his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports with his kids, and golfing. Motivated by a desire to give back, Mike ran for the Park Board to help ensure future generations can enjoy the same outstanding park district services he benefited from growing up in the community.

Jim Scalzo

Jim Scalzo is serving his third six-year term on the Lombard Park District Board. Jim and his wife, Nicole, have two children and live in the Lagoon area of the Park District. Jim is the Creative Director for a Sales and Marketing company in Rolling Meadows. Jim holds a Bachelors degree from Bradley University in Communications & Advertising with minors in Marketing and Graphic Design. He has been a volunteer soccer coach for the Park District for over 10 seasons, played a key role in the successful referendum that brought Lombard Paradise Bay, and has been named to the “Tremendous 200 Club” by the Multiple Sclerosis Society for his fundraising efforts.

Steven Wolsztyniak

Steven Wolsztyniak is serving his first six-year term on the Lombard Park District Board. Steven and his wife, Shannon, have two daughters and have lived in Lombard for 42 years. Steven loves going to his children’s soccer, softball, and basketball games. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and hunting. He ran for the Park Board because he wanted to do his part to help the community.
