The first clinic was a HUGE success, so we’re doing it again! 

The Lombard Park District would like to provide individuals who qualify under Phase 1A and 1B (frontline essential workers and 65 & over) access the COVID-19 vaccine. We have partnered with Jewel Osco pharmacy again to provide a second vaccination clinic at Madison Meadow Athletic Center on Friday, March 26 from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm. All vaccines will be by appointment only and space will be limited to 1,184 individuals for this clinic.

As we continue to work through COVID -19, we would like to provide individuals 65 and older access to the COVID-19 vaccine. We have partnered with Jewel Osco pharmacy to provide the PFIZER VACCINE at Madison Meadow Athletic Center on Friday, February 26 from 9:00am-5:00pm. All vaccines will be by appointment only and space will be limited to 500 individuals for this clinic.

Upon arrival to be vaccinated, enter Madison Meadow Athletic Center no earlier than 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Enter through the front entrance.

Wear loose clothing to expose your arm. Short sleeve shirt recommended.

The second dose will be March 19 same time and location. If you are unavailable for this date, we do not recommend registering for the first dose. Individuals will not need to re-register for the second dose. For dose 2, individuals will need to bring their CDC vaccination card that will be given after receiving the first dose, along with another completed consent form which will be available after the first dose.

AN UPDATE FROM THE LOMBARD PARK DISTRICT

Region 8 Moves to Tier 1 Resurgence Mitigations

Today, DuPage County (Region 8) has been cleared to move to Tier 1 Resurgence Mitigations. Here are the only changes that will be impacted by this new mitigation, effective immediately:

• In-person organized recreational and sports activities will alignment with Tier 1 guidelines.
• Rentals can resume with a maximum of 25 people or 25% of room capacity, whichever is less.

The Illinois Department of Public Health will continue to track the positivity rate in our region and updates will be posted on our website and social media. As always, thank you for your ongoing patience and support.

AN UPDATE FROM THE LOMBARD PARK DISTRICT

Region 8 Moves to Tier 2 Resurgence Mitigations
 
Governor Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Public Health have announced that, effectively immediately, DuPage County (Region 8) qualifies to move back to Tier 2 resurgence mitigations. Lombard Park District will resume in-person organized recreational and sports activities in alignment with the Tier 2 guidelines.

See below for the Lombard Park District and facility offerings that can resume with Tier 2 mitigations.

Athletics & Leagues

• Indoor and outdoor programs and activities will resume with multiple groups of 10, socially distanced 30 ft. apart for a maximum of 25 participants including coaches and trainers.
• No spectators will be allowed unless required for parental supervision.
• Face coverings are required.
• Please refer to the Restore Illinois All Sports Policy for more information.

Recreation Programming | Early Childhood Education, General Interest, Music, Dance, Creative Arts, Adult & Senior Education

• All recreation programming will resume in-person with gathering limits of multiple groups of 10, socially distanced 30 ft. apart for a maximum of 25 participants.

Madison Meadow Athletic Center

• Face coverings must be worn at all times, including while engaged in individual exercise.
• Indoor Group Fitness will resume.
• Group Fitness reservations will be required for classes in advance.
• Additional details will be sent directly to Madison Meadow Athletic Center members and posted to mmaclombard.com.

Sunset Knoll Recreation Center

• Sunset Knoll Recreation Center is closed to the public. Open for programs, pre-registration required.

Parks & Outdoor Activities

• Outdoor group activities are limited to 10 persons or less.
• Participants and guests must wear face coverings at all times.
• Parks and playgrounds will remain open at this time. Please follow all existing guidelines.

Rentals

• Rentals have been limited to 10 guests in indoor settings. The Park District will continue to monitor resurgence mitigations and make changes when possible.

Winter Activity Guide

• The Winter Activity Guide continues to be available online at lombardparks.com. Registration is now open for all.

AN UPDATE FROM THE LOMBARD PARK DISTRICT

State of Illinois Moves to Tier 3 Resurgence Mitigations
 
In accordance with the Governor’s Tier 3 Resurgence Mitigations, the Lombard Park District has made changes to its operations. The Lombard Park District remains committed to following the state guidelines to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The new mitigation measures will have an impact on recreation programs and facilities.

Beginning tomorrow, November 20, we will be implementing the following changes and requirements until further notice. We ask the community to help in this effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 by following state guidelines and CDC recommendations to watch your distance, wear a mask and wash your hands.

Madison Meadow Athletic Center

• Face coverings must be worn at all times, including while engaged in individual exercise.
• Showers will be closed. Restrooms will remain available.
• No indoor group fitness classes until further notice.
• Additional details will be sent directly to Madison Meadow Athletic Center members and posted to mmaclombard.com.

Lombard Golf Course

• Remains open. (weather permitting)
• Visit lombardgolfcourse.com for end of season hours.

Sunset Knoll Recreation Center

• Sunset Knoll Recreation Center will remain closed. (Except for Kiddie Campus Preschool, School of Rec 2.0, Thanksgiving Break Camp and Individual Piano Lessons)

Indoor Recreation Programs 

• Indoor Recreation Programs will be paused, however, there will be some exceptions (see above). Participants will be contacted with a status update.
• Dance, Illinois Shotokan Karate Club and Poms will take place via Zoom until further notice.
• If a program is ultimately canceled, participants will receive a prorated or full refund (depending on the start date of the program).

Parks & Outdoor Activities

• Outdoor group activities are limited to 10 persons or less.
• Participants and guests must wear face coverings at all times.
• Parks and playgrounds will remain open at this time. Please follow all existing guidelines.

Virtual Programs & Special Events

• The Winter Activity Guide is available online only at lombardparks.com. Resident registration will begin December 1 and December 8 for non-residents.

AN UPDATE FROM THE LOMBARD PARK DISTRICT 

Governor Pritzker announced new restrictions due to the increased positivity rate of COVID-19 in DuPage County. The only Lombard Park District service that is impacted by the restrictions in effect tomorrow, October 23 is listed below.

• Gathering limit for facilities, which offer rentals/parties, has been lowered to 25 guests or 25% of room capacity.

Currently there are no other changes to the current Restore Illinois Phase 4 guidance related to organized group recreational activities, Madison Meadow Athletic Center and Lombard Golf Course. Please continue to check our website and social media for additional updates.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE LOMBARD PARK DISTRICT

Our playgrounds will reopen June 29 at Noon.

Please remember to follow the below guidelines:

• Do not play at the playground if you are feeling sick or symptomatic.
• No more than 50 patrons will be permitted at the playground at any given time.
• Patrons must maintain a 6-foot social distance from others.
• Patrons should wear face coverings in the event a 6-foot social distance cannot be maintained.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE MADISON MEADOW ATHLETIC CENTER

The Madison Meadow Athletic Center is excited to announce we will be opening our doors on Monday, June 29. The health and safety of our members and staff is our number one priority. Our staff has been working hard and has taken extensive safety measures including enhanced cleaning, social distancing measures and additional safety protocols. Please be patient with us as our reopening will occur in stages with limited hours in order to ensure that all areas and programs are reintroduced as safely as possible for our members and staff.

Reopening Monday, June 29 to members only.

Weekday Hours: 5:30 am – 8:30 pm
Weekend Hours: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm
Babysitting will remain closed until further notice. 

Madison Meadow Athletic Center reopening efforts include:

• All staff and members are required to wear face coverings when not exercising.
• Members must maintain a minimum of 6 feet of distance.
• Staff have installed shields at customer service counters.
• Cleaning supplies will be readily available throughout the facility so you can disinfect items before and after use.
• Cardio equipment has been spaced out on the fitness floor and Studio 2 to allow for appropriate social distancing.
• Fitness accessories must be checked out and returned to staff after use.
• Scheduled Pickleball and shoot around times (with social distancing) are TBD, based on program needs and availability.
• Group Fitness schedules will be provided at a later date.

We ask our members to assist us with the following:

• Do a self assessment before visiting to make sure you are symptom free. Follow the current CDC guidelines about how to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Please stay home in the event that you are exhibiting symptoms or not feeling well.
• Face coverings should be worn upon entering the facility.
• We highly encourage you to arrive in your workout attire.
• Clean equipment before and after use.
• Map out your workout before heading to the facility.
• Do not share equipment unless you are in the same household.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE LOMBARD PARK DISTRICT 

Within the parameters of the Five Phase Restore Illinois Plan for reopening Illinois during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Lombard Park District has taken a serious look at our ability to provide safe programming for the children in our community this summer. We understand families are anxious to know what plans the Park District has to offer for camps this summer. While we still do not entirely know what the future will hold, we do know that camps will not be provided as we originally planned. With guidance set forth by IDPH and the CDC, the Lombard Park District will be implementing modified camp programs with staggered start dates.

Some modifications to our camps will include strict capacity numbers, especially during Phase Three of reopening. Additionally, field trips and swim days will not take place and flexibility of days may be limited. Our modified camps will incorporate smaller group sizes in various locations throughout the District to allow for little to no crossover between camp groups.

Lombard Park District is tentatively scheduled to begin camps on the following dates. These dates and camps are subject to change based on guidance from IDPH, CDC, and the Restore Illinois Plan.

• Early Childhood Camps (half days, ages 3-10) are scheduled to begin Monday, June 8. The starting date for this camp has been moved back from June 1. Credits and refunds will be made accordingly.
• School Age Care (full day, Grades 1-6, similar to our traditional Day Camp with limited times and group sizes) scheduled to begin Monday, June 15 and will run through Friday, July 3.
• Our traditional Day Camp (Full day, Grades 1-6) is scheduled to begin Monday, July 6 and run through Friday, August 14.

Summer camp registration for School Age Care and traditional Day Camp will begin on Monday, June 1. Camp space will be limited due to IDPH and CDC restrictions.

If you are currently registered for any of our camp programs and no longer need the care, you can request a refund. To do this, please e-mail info@lombardparks.com.

More information will be provided next week.

Thank you for your patience over the past several weeks. We will miss our usual variety of camp programs and offerings, but are working hard to create a positive camp experience!

Beginning Friday, May 15, Lombard Park District tennis courts will reopen. Tennis play can resume provided social distancing guidelines are followed. We believe that the revised guidelines combined with player’s attention to social distancing and limited interaction before and after matches allows for safe play. We’re happy to offer this amenity again! Please be aware Lombard Park District reserves the right to close tennis courts at any given time.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE LOMBARD PARK DISTRICT 

In cooperation with Governor Pritzker’s Stay-At-Home Order continuing through May 31, along with the current social distancing guidelines and restrictions on groups larger than 10 in both Phase 2 & 3 of the Restore Illinois Plan, the Lombard Park District is announcing Paradise Bay Water Park will be closed for the 2020 season.

We are disappointed that we are unable to bring you the recreation opportunities we had planned and that our community is used to seeing and enjoying. However, ensuring the safety and well being of the community, visitors and staff must take priority. Refunds will be processed for those that have purchased passes or registered for pool programs.

Lombard Park District is anxious to fully serve its residents and resume day-to-day activities, but we must do so based on the recommendations of State Officials and the CDC.

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM THE LOMBARD PARK DISTRICT 

Face Coverings at Lilacia Park Clarification: Based on safety recommendations by the CDC and in cooperation with Governor Pritzker’s Restore Illinois Plan, we are taking this measure for the safety of the Lombard community and its residents. To clarify the exceptions to the face covering requirement at Lilacia Park, the CDC recommendations state that face coverings should not be placed on young children under the age of 2, anyone who has trouble breathing, or is unconscious, incapacitated or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance.

A JOINT MESSAGE FROM THE VILLAGE OF LOMBARD AND THE LOMBARD PARK DISTRICT 

The Village of Lombard and the Lombard Park District are reminding residents that the Stay-At-Home Order will continue through May 31st and social distancing remains in place in public/outdoor spaces.Additionally, face (mouth/nose) coverings are now required for situations where a minimum of 6-feet of social distance between you and people that do not reside in your home cannot be maintained at all times. These restrictions are in place to help keep our community safe and we are relying on Lombard to help keep you and your neighbors healthy.

Our highest priority continues to be the health and well-being of our residents, employees, and first responders. Please know that we share in this challenging time with you. We too miss baseball games and outdoor sports with friends and neighbors. We too miss Lilac Time events and celebrating our beautiful Lilac Village. It is our hope that this temporary inconvenience will soon pass, and we look forward to the moment we can safely reunite with our community, but for now – we ask for your patience and understanding.

Parks, Trails, and Golf Course Information

Lombard’s many parks, trails, and open spaces can be used in a safe manner that allows people to enjoy the mental and physical health benefits that these spaces provide. Per the executive order in effect from May 1-31, the Lombard Golf Course will reopen, with restrictions, on Saturday, May 2 at 6:00 am (weather-permitting). Restrictions include allowing only twosomes, spacing out tee times to be 15 minutes apart, requiring golfers to walk the course, no shared rental carts (can bring one’s own pull cart), and requiring reservations only (no walk-ups), as well as the ongoing closure of the driving range and putting green. Individuals with a physical disability or physical limitations that prevent them from walking the course may rent a cart. Only privately-owned pull carts may be utilized, rental of pull carts from the course will not be allowed. Visit lombardgolfcourse.com for more information.

Lilacia Park and Social Distancing

As of April 30, 2020, Lilacia Park remains open to the public, pending maintained social distancing behavior. We hope to continue providing safe opportunities for the community to get outside and enjoy fresh air. We are depending on our community members to act responsibly. The Lombard Police Department and the Lombard Park District will continue to work together to disperse groups that are using playgrounds or athletic fields. A JOINT MESSAGE FROM THE VILLAGE OF LOMBARD AND THE LOMBARD PARK DISTRICT 

As concerns about coronavirus continue to grip our nation, our highest priority remains the health and well-being of our residents, employees, and first responders. We are ALL in this together.

The Village of Lombard and the Lombard Park District are working together to implore our community to adhere to the Governor’s Stay-at-Home Mandate and to follow guidelines from the CDC, including social distancing.

While many of our community members are doing their part to flatten the curve and help save lives, others are disregarding the Governor’s Executive Order and the CDC guidelines, including ignoring playground closure signs, continuing to congregate in groups in neighborhoods, and gathering for outdoor sports and recreational activities. At this time, one’s personal enjoyment must take a back seat to public safety and the wellness of all.

We understand that staying at home can be challenging. We believe that the many parks, trails, and open spaces can continue to be used in a safe manner that allows people to enjoy the mental and physical health benefits these spaces provide. However, it is not acceptable to congregate in groups.

The Lombard Police Department and the Lombard Park District are working cooperatively together on enforcement, including dispersing groups using playgrounds or athletic fields. Lombard Police are monitoring these areas and ask for your voluntary compliance.

Help Us Help You! Tips on how you can help:

• Refrain from using parks/trails if you or someone in your household are exhibiting symptoms of illness,
• Follow CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene prior to, during, and after the use of parks or trails.
• Pack and utilize disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizers.
• Warn other visitors of your presence as you pass on trails/paths and step aside to let others pass.
• Avoid congregating in neighborhoods and parks. Do not gather in groups for sports or picnicking.
• Always observe the CDC’s minimum recommended social distancing of 6 feet from other individuals. If this is not possible, find an alternate location or park.
• Teach children the importance of social distancing and help them find other ways to connect with friends. Stress the importance of being responsible and respectful of others.

We hope to continue providing safe opportunities for the community to get outside and enjoy fresh air, but if forced to do so, further steps may need to be taken in order to protect the public from the spread of COVID-19. The Village and the Park District will continue to monitor and act on recommendations from our federal, state and regional public health partners. We appreciate your commitment to these principals.
