Southland OSLAD Project
Lombard Park District was proudly awarded a $600,000 Open Space Grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) to assist in the park development of Southland, located at Grace Street and Central Avenue. Lombard Park District’s project was one of 118 projects funded by the Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) grant program in 2023. In particular, the Park District would like to thank State Representative, Terra Costa Howard, and State Senator, Suzy Glowiak Hilton, for their support of this project and their recommendations of it to the IDNR.
Features planned for the park were based on community input including pickleball and bocce ball courts, improvements to soccer and baseball fields, new play environment with ADA additions, shelters, asphalt pathways, walking trail, and more. Additional details and updates are to come on this exciting new project.
